Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. (Matthew 10:29-31, NIV)
Thank God for his providence in your life! If God has put you in a family or in a church that means you have some responsibility for these people. If you are married, then God drew you to your spouse, and that means you owe the highest loyalty to him or her.
You are not where you are by chance, but by the providence of God. Think about some things that have been hard in your life, people who have been difficult, maybe over many years. God put them there, and he will use even them to advance his great purpose of reproducing Christ in you.

When Solomon’s temple was being built, the stones were all cut in a quarry, and then after they were shaped, they were carried to God’s temple and silently assembled (1 Kings 6:7). It’s a great picture of how God chisels our lives in the quarry, and then when Christ comes, we will be shaped to take our place in his presence.
Romanian Christian leader Joseph Ton had been imprisoned for his faith and was badly treated by the guards. As he prayed, he began to have compassion, and he even prayed for their children. One guard asked him, “Joseph, the other prisoners hate us. Why are you different?”
And Joseph said, “Because to me, you are God’s stonecutter.”
When the news is overwhelming, God is still on the throne. The hands that hold your life are the hands that hold all things.
Who are God’s stonecutters in your life?
