These are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. John 20:31

Doubt that arises from deficient foundations is best helped by the discipline of serious study, so approach the Bible as a detective.

It may not be immediately obvious, but all the evidence you need is already there. Everything you would like to know is not there, but all the evidence you need to know that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, is given to you in the Bible.

God will never allow you to reason your way to faith. Faith must involve the opening of your heart and the commitment of your will, but God has given a reasonable basis for faith.

Begin with the Gospels. Ask God to open your eyes and give you understanding. Use good books to help you, like The Case for Faith by Lee Strobel. Ask about what you do not understand, and keep asking until you find an answer.

If you are asking university level questions, look for university level answers. Take some courses if that will help you. Truth fears no honest investigation. God created you with a mind, a heart and a will, and he will not bypass any of them.

It’s like falling in love. When you discover that person and you know they are the one, your mind says so, your heart says so, and your will says so. Three green lights, and you don’t want any of them to be missing. That’s where God wants to bring you.

Some of us are intuitive people, and there is nothing wrong with that. But when a person becomes a Christian, the mind is convinced, the heart is filled, and the will is committed.

Are any of the three green lights missing in your faith today?
