The will of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. Isaiah 53:10

The risen Lord Jesus is not passively watching the world from a distance. He is actively engaged in getting God’s will done. He is bringing people to new birth, giving strength for the trials we face, and hearing and answering our prayers. And one day He will bring us home to glory.

We look at the world in its defiance toward God, and it looks as if God’s will is barely getting done. But faith sees beyond the chaos of the world and believes the promise: the will of the Lord will prosper in Jesus’ hand. Notice that God’s will prospers in His hand, not ours. All God has planned will come to pass through our Lord Jesus Christ.

The book of Hebrews says that Jesus will bring many children to glory (Heb. 2:10), and it paints a picture of the Son of God standing in the presence of the Father with the entire company of His redeemed children around Him: “Behold, I and the children God has given me” (2:13).

Jesus will get the will of God done, and He tells us quite clearly what God’s will is:

“I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day” (John 6:38-40).

The will of God is your salvation, and Jesus will get it done. The will of God is your growth, your being kept, and your arriving in glory—and Jesus will get it done. The will of the Lord shall prosper in the hand of Jesus, and if your life is in His hand, you have nothing to fear.

What would keep you from placing your life in Jesus’ hand?
