Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Hebrews 11:6 (NIV)
God has given astonishing promises regarding prayer. Here are seven:God has given astonishing promises regarding prayer. Here are seven:
- If two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. (Mat. 18:19, 20)
- I will do whatever you ask in my name. (John 14:13)
- You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. (John 14:14)
- The Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. (John 15:16)
- I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. (John 16:23)
- This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. (1 John 5:14)
- Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. (James 5:14-15)
Faith prays. Prayer is the fruit of faith, an evidence of faith, and an expression of faith. There is no true prayer without faith.
