God’s call to a life of obedience is clear throughout the Bible.
The Holy Spirit is given for obedience.
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws (Ez. 36:26-27, NIV).

We are redeemed for obedience.
He condemned sin in sinful man, in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit (Rom. 8:3-4).
We are chosen for obedience.
To God’s elect, strangers in the world…who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling by his blood (1 Pet. 1:1-2).
The gospel is not only to be believed; it is also to be obeyed.
For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God? (1 Pet. 4:17).
Obedience is the evidence of new life in Christ.
We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands (1 John 2:3).
