He shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days. Isaiah 53:10

The promise is not only that Christ will have offspring; it is that He will see His offspring. People who have children may live to see their grandchildren. Some will live to see their great grandchildren, but that is about it.

With Jesus it is different. Isaiah says, “He shall prolong his [Jesus’] days.” Jesus lives forever, and He will see His offspring through all generations. This is a clear reference to the resurrection of Jesus. He rose from the grave in the power of a new and eternal life. In every generation, Jesus knows each of His children by name, and He is intimately involved with each of their lives.

Christian believer, since Jesus lives forever, He sees you, and He knows you by name. He knows your struggles and temptations. He knows what you are facing today and exactly what you need to get through tomorrow. The resurrection means Jesus lives forever, and that means He is present with you now.

Here is something very wonderful: the life of Jesus is in His offspring, so what is true of Jesus will also be true of you. Jesus was the first to rise from the dead, and because He rose, you also will rise. Jesus enjoys an eternal life, and because His life is in you, you will live forever, as well. “Because I live,” Jesus promised, “you also will live” (John 14:19).

What might change in your life if you trusted this truth that Jesus sees you and is with you?
