Obstacles to Prayer

Obstacles to prayer can greatly hinder our relationship with God and our motivation for seeking Him in prayer. Thankfully, God’s Word has the answer. This final session of Pray the Bible will tackle five obstacles to prayer, leaving viewers with confidence and motivation to invest their lives in the kingdom of God through prayer.

    • Guilt
    • Legalism
    • Doubting If God Hears Us
    • Misunderstandings about God’s Sovereignty
    • Wrong Motivations
  • How did God encourage you in this session?
  •  Have you been legalistic as it relates to prayer? If so, how?
  • In what ways did this session help you? How does the gospel and remembering God as our Father help us overcome the five obstacles to prayer?
  • Spend a moment thinking about the eternal impact you want your life to have through prayer. What does it look like? What would it take to get there? How might you need to restructure your time or life to make the most of the opportunity you’ve been given?
  • What passages, tools, or ideas most impacted you in this module? How can you implement them in your prayer life?

Respond to the teaching in prayer:

  • Praise God for the freedom of the gospel and the unbelievable opportunity to change the world for His glory and the good of others through prayer!
  • Confess the obstacles that have hindered your prayer life, and ask God for the faith and help to overcome them.
  • Ask God to show you how to be more intentional in prayer. Ask Him to help you implement what you’ve learned in this course.
