With the Lord’s blessing and with your support, Open the Bible now reaches nearly 20 million people each year with impactful Bible teaching.

But now Open the Bible is at a threshold as we have a unique window of opportunity to:

  • REACH more people than ever, no matter where they are
  • REACH and edify more believers
  • REACH more people who’ve yet to put their faith in Jesus

In the last 12 months, we:

  • Broadcast our daily radio program on 750 stations, reaching 3 million people each week​
  • Had approximately 4 million people visit our US website​
  • Engaged > 350k people on social media and through our mobile app​
  • Had our mobile app downloaded/used by tens of thousands​
  • Reached nearly 20 million people with sound, Bible content​
  • Added several thousand new donors (all 50 states & 15 countries)

Why a Campaign Now?​

Open the Bible has been steadily growing and expanding into new opportunities so that now the ministry can grow at an even faster pace and with a wider REACH. Annual funding allows for normal operations, REACH-ing more requires above and beyond financial support. Over the next five years, Open the Bible seeks to grow in four core areas.

New Content

We want millions to encounter God’s truth through fresh, timely resources— brand-new teachings and reimagined classics designed for today. We will achieve this by creating new content and revamping transformative material from the past for distribution channels of today.

  • This past spring, a beautiful new devotional, 30 Days with Jesus in the Lord’s Prayer guided readers through a meditative journey in this prayer example of Jesus’. Just in time for Christmas, Pastor Colin’s newest book Christmas Stories presents the account of Jesus’ birth from five unique perspectives – Gabriel, Herod, Mary, Joseph, and Simeon.
  • A reimagined classic is the upcoming addition of the Heaven, How I Got Here book to be released in graphic novel format which is a style popular among adolescents and incarcerated individuals.

New Platforms

From new podcasts and live teaching events to expanded radio and ministry partnerships, we are multiplying the ways people can access God’s Word—anywhere, anytime. Today, for material to have the biggest impact and therefore transformation for a person, it is helpful to have multiple ways to ingest and process. We will use new platforms to make the new resources accessible.

  • A podcast to coincide with the upcoming release of the book Hike Through the Bible will launch in early 2026. The podcast will take each chapter through an in-depth conversation with Pastor Colin Smith. While a book can stand alone, engaging with its content in multiple ways often helps the lessons take deeper root. There will also be other podcasts of various lengths so that people can take in Bible based teaching however we can reach them on different platforms and different time commitments.
  • Another example of platforms is through live events, Open the Bible will be going on the road! Each year, Pastor Colin will take a teaching series to several cities around the country. In 2025, he will be presenting FLY THROUGH THE BIBLE in four major Midwest cities in October and November.

New Languages and Geographies

As the theme verse for the campaign says, our goal is to REACH to the ends of the earth with God’s word.

  • Continuing bold support of our United Kingdom ministry
  • Expanding our Spanish radio & podcast from weekly to daily
  • Reaching 75% of the world’s population with the Heaven, How I Got Here film in 25+ languages with more in production
  • Rebuilding our website to serve as a parent site for numerous international websites
  • Launching International translation/content delivery

New Team Members

Pastor Colin Smith, after serving as Senior Pastor at The Orchard church, is now serving as Pastor Emeritus and joining Open the Bible full time. In addition, in 2024 and now in 2025, the Open the Bible team has added new positions in SEO, event management, partnerships and international strategy, development, and social media.
