  • Many in our world and even the church reject the doctrine of sin. Why do you think that is?
  • Pastor Colin mentioned six effects of sin:
    • The mind is darkened
    • The affections are distorted
    • The will is disabled
    • The conscience is disoriented

    • Why is it crucial to understand these effects for the Christian life? For ministry?

  • What would you say to a friend thinking of walking away from Christ due to sin they see in the church?
  • Grasping the doctrine of sin will deepen your compassion for the lost. How might you pursue to grow in compassion for those who do not yet know Christ?

  • Praise God for making us alive with Christ even though we were dead in our trespasses and sins!
  • Confess how sin has permeated every part of your life.
  • Thank God that Jesus Christ provides a solution for the world’s sin problem!
  • Ask God to continually sanctify you, help you see sin’s effects in your life more, and to strengthen your ministry by knowing the doctrine of sin.
